This book can apply to all of our lives in some way. I am a perfectionist/procrastinator so I related well as I read through the pages a little each night. No matter what our lives are like, the author is easy to relate to as she reminds us that we are not perfect, but Blameless before God.
I have loved reading Christy's short chapters about how God has encouraged her. Christy's humor, honesty and insights have now encouraged me.
I read this book in a day, catching extra moments when I could. Christy's transparency was engaging. Her encouragement to acknowledge our shortcomings yet allow God to change us was administered with plenty of doses of humor.
I just finished Blameless by Christy Fitzwater, which led me to visit her website and read some blog posts. I am a 45 yo work in progress with some major sin failures (major!!!) in her past and now trying to follow Jesus with all my heart. What is so refreshing about her book and blogs is the reality of daily life and examining for progress in my walk rather than focus on every failure. Thank you, Christy, for your realness!!! I am so glad God has always intended to lead me on the journey to becoming "blameless".
After having the opportunity to visit with the author, her comment was "I'm a mess!" Aren't we all? As our pastor says, that's why God sent us a mess-iah. Love this book, love the author and love her willingness to share herself and how God has shown her how to be blameless. Oh that everyone could experience this freedom.
I just loved this book. I stumbled upon Christy's blog years ago, and my mom and I talk about her like we know her. For example, my mom said one time, "I have to swing by dunkin donuts on the way to work b/c my computer's acting up and I need IT. You saw Christy took her maintenance man donuts yesterday? What a great plan!" I feel like I'm sitting on the couch laughing with Christy while I read this book. I find her so funny! "...because, come on." Exactly! She says what you were thinking and never said. And she loves Jesus with her whole heart! This book was a joy to read, and after I loan it to my mom, I will read it again.
This book is full of stories of mistakes and mess-ups that we can all relate to. It doesn't stop there, however, it shows the hurt but also the healing. The truths in this book have encouraged me and helped me to better know God and love Him more. The author's sense of humor keeps your interest throughout the whole book, you won't want to put it down! A wonderful read that will change your life forever!
